10th Annual People and Culture Days
Weds. & Thurs. Oct 17th & 18th - 2012
On the third week of October each year, Sierra College celebrates its diverse student population and their unique cultural perspectives. This two day event, held on Wednesday and Thursday from 10:00 to 2:00 pm., provides a forum for students, clubs, various disciplines and programs to represent their viewpoints. It's also a place to discuss challenging world issues, population growth, regional conflicts, sustainability and the global economy.
The passport is an easy way to involve students with the various exhibits and activities of the event. It's an educational tool to encourage your students to learn more about the world around them. Instructors are welcome to use the passports as a required class assignment, for extra credit, or in any way that they see appropriate. The best part of this event is that it makes learning fun!
Top performers in the past have included Sacramento State Jazz Ensemble, Marcos Catalayud and company straight from Brazil via the SF Bay Area, and others.
