Presentation Overview
- Give your case study presentation in 8 minutes or less.
- Use the textbook first, then research additional sources.
- Each member of the team must participate in the class presentation.
- Each team will be graded as a whole for the presentation and poster.
Presentations Details:
First, give your audience an overview about each region, such as where is it. Then introduce the ethnic groups in the context of the world today.What is the significance of this conflict, both regionally and globally?
Give a picturesque descriptions of your case study with either verbal descriptions or colorful pictures (referenced on the poster or your Power Point presentation).
What are the geographical, historical and religious factors that make almost all of these conflicts deeply entrenched and difficult to resolve? Organize the details so that the class can understand them … please don't just simply read off a list of facts and figures that you barely understand yourself.
At the end of your presentation, summarize your key points so that students know what important points to remember. You may ask a few multiple-choice questions or several true / false questions to see if your audience was listening.
It's highly encouraged to create a Power Point or Keynote (Mac) presentation to display on screen. Why? Because it's much easier to talk with a backdrop. Keep it simple though.
As part of the assignment, each team is responsible to create a hand-drawn poster to be displayed during class (even if you create a Power Point presentation.
Poster Details:
Create a large poster including a map that focuses on your regional area, such as around Eritrea or Rwanda in Africa.
Your display board must be 3 feet (36") x 4 feet (48") cardboard:
also include major locations, common landmarks, places, etc. within your specific regional area. Tell the story in pictures. Be creative! But keep it simple with images (maps, charts, pictures, etc.) with only captions. No busy text boxes
