Sean Booth


Education : BA in Journalism from the University of Oregon, 1987. MA in Geography from CSU Chico, 1995. Emphasis in Cultural Geography and specializing in Geographic Information Systems (GIS). Worked on numerous GIS projects and as a city planner. Other professional experience includes working for the Dept. of Forest and Fire Protection (CDF - FRAP), US Forest Service and National Park Service. Past major projects include Placer County conservation planning (PCCP) process and developing GIS certificate program.

Recent Achievements & Awards: Sierra Club - Enviromental Education Award of the Year (2007), Clover Valley - Last of Its Kind documentary movie, Placer's Future: This Land is Your Land, People & Culture Days, Dry Creek Conservancy GIS, International Travel and more including YouTube channel success in aviation - look up Cessna 182.

Favorite World Photographs - favorite travel pictures.

Interests: taking off & landing airplanes, woodworking, kayaking, backpacking & hiking, traveling, strumming the guitar, photography & filmmaking. Skateboarding is a new one.
